Campsites

For women travelling alone or in pairs, this one might not be for you. This is a very isolated spot to camp, especially if you’ve spent 6hrs listening to murder podcasts! There’s a beautiful area further on than the camp grounds with bright blue water and mangroves for day trippers only. Boats could be launched from here. Saw some men fishing there. We planned to camp, but the wind was strong and the sun was harsh so we left about an hour after arriving. Literally no shade except where there is a table with covering near the one toilet. Toilet was clean and poo-smell free. Swimming would be dangerous due to the rocks, and it’s rocks right down to the water and out a bit further than that. Optus mobile coverage was 2 bars of 3G, so that’s a huge plus!
