Such a beautiful little campsite with plenty of spots to choose from. No camp fees. Need to bring your own water and firewood. Right on the creek which is gorgeous. There are two camps and drop toilet... Read more
Good spot very busy over new years
The only thing that spoils this campsire are the rough necks that don't give a damn about other campers, and the campers that toilet anywhere and don't use the drop toilets provided. I've seen once to... Read more
Nice spot. River crossing is available for 4WDs. Two moderate size camping areas. Firepits at sites. No optus internet but limited Telstra services.
Probably our favourite spot. Just beautiful, great level spots, gorgeous river and amazing forest. Looks like it would get very busy.
Top Questions
Hello, are the toilets here drop toilets?
Yes, drop toilet. Fairly clean compare to other free campsites toilet. by Matt L.
Problem.is many campers just go to the toilet anywhere, leaving used toilet paper everywhere. It's disgusting and unhygienic. Also you get some rough around the edges campers that get drunk and cause a racas, or become threatening. I personally wouldn't feel safe, and feels very unhygienic in places, having been there before. by Grant A.
Is there phone reception?
Partially. by Grant A.
Are bookings essential for these campsites? Also, are there fishing areas close by?
Free camping and fish in the river. Google it. by Grant A.
Can caravans access this area easily ?
Yes they can. Just come down the coopers creek rd near the horseshoe bend car park and you should be fine by Hayden T.
thanks by Nikki S.
The road is narrow and rough in places, it's a dirt road, so be mindful of how big your caravan is, and is it off road classified. by Grant A.
