Gorgeous little place. On a public holiday it's $25 per person per night. On a normal day, $20. You can pay at the gate on the way in if you haven't booked. The lady will come around and do a check. Not overly crowded. We had a self contained bus.
Awesome location on the river for about 20 camp sites that are not too close together. Toilets are provided. No power or water, so bring your own. This place is located on the Cox's River for swimming etc.and is stunning! Fires are permitted, even in summer, unless there's a general fire ban in that area. Best to bring your own wood as the owner asks you to pay to use hers. The other negative reviews about the owner are not justified and harsh. Rosemary is absolutely fine if you treat her and her property with respect and pay the correct fees. It is unfortunate that a small % of the population do not know how to do that and become defensive when they're brought to account. There is always one in every crowd.
Exstreamly rude owner told my little boy 10 years old to not fish there anymore because people leave line and rubbish behind told him he should be with a responsible adult we were 20 meters away from him than she abused me and my wife about the same thing
Lovely spot but really hostile owner/host. My partner and I came to Camp for one night with our dog. Upon arrival you are met with an ‘honesty box’ at the gate alongside some basic instructions for camping (keep fires small, make sure to recycle etc) and there is a price listing for both day and overnight visits. There are no staff or owners manning the gate so we paid our $30 for the night to the honesty box and set up camp. The area is truly beautiful minus the occasional truck barrelling down the road nearby which did wake us a few times in the night. Should we have been left alone all would of been great, however just before pack up a woman in a white Ute pulled into our site seemingly irate. Without so much as a hello she asked how many nights we planned on staying, we said one, she said have you put any money in the box?, we said yes we were the ones with coins included. She then kind of rolled her eyes and said angrily ‘how much money did you put in the box?’ We said $30, two people for one night at $15 a head. She then huffed and looked at our dog who was just sitting beside me quietly (in his harness but unleashed). ‘Dogs need to be leashed ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF THE TIME’ my partner reached for the leash sitting next to us to signal that we had had him leashed (even minus any signage whatsoever about rules for dogs and them listing ‘dog friendly’ on their listings) she then snapped at him ‘leash him NOW’. He did, then she drove off. It was weirdly accusatory and hostile given we were one of the only two occupied campsites that day. This interaction left a really sour taste in our mouth and begs the question why you would call it an ‘honesty box’ if you are going to spend the energy interrogating everyone because you’re assuming we are dishonest? Also as other reviews have said, I get the feeling they are NOT dog friendly at all and there have been multiple negative run-ins with the hosts. Unfortunately due to this experience with the host, I couldn’t recommend this site nor would I encourage supporting someone that thinks it’s okay to behave in such a way towards well-behaved paying guests. Plenty of other options nearby.
