Absolutely beautiful spot! So chilled and relaxing, our long weekend here was so needed and the peacefulness of this place soothed the soul. Sites are grassy and well kept. The owners are friendly and accommodating. More suitable for tents and camper trailers as the owners will tell you, but the sites are roomy and the scenery is stunning. The toilets and showers are functional but a bit of a hike uphill. They’re not far, but it’s uphill, so if you’re used to midnight visits, maybe take a portable toilet. Bird life is amazing, and there are wandering Purple Swamp Hens (Pukekos) that are entertaining to watch. Top spot for kayaking or paddle boarding as the lake is fairly calm and there’s no danger of houseboat/ paddleboat traffic. If you’re taking a caravan, don’t expect to be absolute riverside, but you won’t be far away. This is a place for couples and families that appreciate the serenity and respect it. Fire pits available for everyone to use and enjoy looking up at the sky full of stars. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Loved it, thank you Lakeside Campground, we’ll be back!😊
Great spot on the lake, fishing , kayaking, birdlife, resident echidna. Showers and toilets are a bit of a walk but no probs if you’re self contained. Great hosts, firewood and ice available. Cash req... Read more
Love camping there. It's next to the water, had an awesome grass and shady area to put your tent up and a communal fire pit. It doesn't have any running water and the toilets are a bit up the hill, but apart from that it's the perfect location for some quiet time
