I’ve stayed at Meroo heads a couple of times and it is an awesome area to camp. The access road off the highway can be hard to see as there is no signage. the dirt road in is suitable for 2wd vehicles, only a few pot holes. There is 25 campsites all very clearly displayed in the shady forest and they are quite roomy with a fire pit in each site, they do however get taken up very quickly on the weekends so get in as quick as you can! Only a stone throw from the beach there is also a few walking trails and a lookout point overlooking the beautiful Termeil beach. There is only 2 drop dunnies that are in good condition, just don’t forget to bring toilet paper. Keep your food locked up at night because the possums like to come and raid the sites at night. Definantly would recommenced staying here!

Beautiful spot but very busy. Negative for me is you have to park your car then walk a fair way to campsite. Not ideal for someone with a camper van, roof top or car set up

Drove the 3km unsealed road in a low clearance 2WD vehicle. Busy site over holidays but managed to squeeze in a free spot that another group kindly let us share. If you can get a spot here it’s the perfect place right by a beautiful beach. Rangers frequent pretty often, follow all rules to avoid fines.

It is so close to the beach and in the forest so can hear the waves and forest noices. 25 camp sites along two paths, separate nicely so next all next to each other.
