300kms every which way on challenging dirt / gravel roads. An oasis in the tough outback. Powered sites $40 per night for 2 persons, unpowered $30 pn forc2. Good facilities, clean and stocked. Washing machines $5 per load. Bore water available but you have boil. Reception of Telstra, shop carries most items, even icecreams! There is a restaurant and bar, no BYO that turns out the best station steaks. Lots of shorter trails and points of interest. You can buy diesel only at station, $1.85 currently. No generators allowed but you can have camp fires on the dirt not the lawned areas. We climbed the mountain, started at 5.30 am and with 2 inexperienced climbers in group it took 10 hours round trip! Remember 3 people have lost thier lives and caused others to risk thiers in rescue. You need to be fit and experienced, taking water minimum 3 litres per person and food suitable for a days hike. 6 kms up and 6kms down. It is classed a 5 trail but I am sure it was a 6! Glad we did it. On way out to Gascoyne Junction, we blew a tyre, thank goodness for traction control and stability otherwise wreaked car and camper! Enjoy this unique place but take all sensible precautions.
