I kind of hate revealing such beautiful places because it’s nice to keep them secret, hidden places to visit but I have to say that this place is very special. We camped on top of Mt Oxley. The views were amazing. I have never experienced being able to see so far in every direction. There are flushing toilets with electric lighting!! We saw so many eagles, goats, Roos, wallabies and many tiny little birds. Sunrise and sunset are amazing. Where possible I would advise booking in advance as sometimes communication can be a bit delayed due to station owners having a life and being busy. Very lovely to deal with Denise. We were rained in and had to stay longer than intended but if ever I had to be stuck somewhere, this is just the place I would choose.

This site cost $33 for the night but well worth it. The view and sunset on top of the mountain are awesome. Has toilets and a large undercover camp kitchen with gas bbq’s sink etc. if staying around Bourke you have to get yourself up there for the night you won’t regret it. You can book through the information center in town or google mount Oxley and ring the land owner directly to book.
