absolutely awesome campsite. had been wanting to visit during winter and finally had the chance this July. gorgeous spot next to the buchan river surrounded by stunning scenery. we came in via benambra, roads were a little slick in places thanks to rain and snow. if you come in from the buchan side there was a lot more snow to deal with so take it easy. the camping area itself isn't huge, but the spots are flat and reasonably open. head back up towards benambra and up native cat track to get firewood, plenty around. well maintained drop loo but a little bit of a hike from the lower campsites, and take a torch, even during the day, it's fairly dark with the door closed! no phone reception is a big plus as well. saw a few brumbies and lots of wallabies. great, quiet little spot, highly recommend.
