April 2024. Campsite is around 35 minutes from Hyden. We arrived at about 8:30pm on Friday night. The camp site was fairly empty with only 3 other vehicles. This campsite is unmarked for bays, so we were just mindful of how close we parked to others. A few low branches across the entry and exit points. No lighting at all. There is a slope of the cleared area towards the road side. Bring levelers or ramps to level your vehicles. Toilets (one male, one female) are water flush, but the doors don't lock and there is a leak in the women's connection from the tank to the toilet. Also mud wasp nests on the inside of the toilet walls. Reception for Telstra network, not Optus. No TV reception. Lots of small mosquitoes and midges. Millions of tiny flies. Even more normal sized flies. Bring tropical DEET repellent And bite first aid. Non potable water station about 200m down the gravel road. Lots of Birdlife, rabbits and possums. A few fire pits are around, and one picnic table. Not a lot of shade, good views of the bush regrowing after the fire season. Overall, this campsite is adequate for those who are 90% self sufficient. 4wd towing Caravan 2 Adults 2 kids

Great place to camp. Peace and quiet. Flushing toilets. Nice climb to the peak and look down over the dam and surrounding bush.
