Firstly, this is a beautiful area! We arrived on sunset views and were the only ones here. (Camping week before Christmas as an overnight site). The dog zoomed around the area happily and we had no concerns of risk for the dog to be off leash. The sand is compact mostly but a few areas of shallow fluffy sand, I would still recommend an AWD or 4WD for access. Lots of places to choose from. Unfortunately for us we had purchased a new tent which can fit 9ppl, we should have invested in sand pegs…. The wind whipped thru overnight and upturned half for our tent which had a full esky of ice/melted ice and food stuffs all over one side of our tented mansion (I think it would make a good sail boat next time). So at midnight we were battling winds to pack up a sailboat and fit ourselves and a dog in a small 2p hiking tent which was more easily sheltered by a tactically placed car. In the morning the hordes of flies surrounding us as we stepped outside the tent was frustrating as we tried to stop them crawling into our facial cavities…. If you’re a prepared camper then It would be a wonderful site for an overnight stay! No amenities or anything here. Did not see any wildlife to be concerned with either.
