Campsites

Stayed for 10 nights over Christmas & New Years. Check in is at 2pm for sites and not 12pm like the website said. It wasn’t advertised very clearly, I had to go into FAQ to find the check in time, for it to only be wrong. However, after checking the digital receipt it does mention it there, but then check out is incorrect on the receipt 🤷‍♀️ Park has two parts. “Top” part to the right of reception has the majority of cabins and powered sites. These sites are very cramped together and the road around them is very tight. Wouldn’t like to be getting a large van into one of those spots. Luckily we were down at the lower part near the pool, splash park and jumping pillow. Bigger roads and the sites seems to be a little larger. Although quite a few people had a van, boat and a car that they were trying to squeeze onto a site. Amenities are dated; one centrally located block. Showers are ok. The men’s are apparently very powerful, the women’s are not. Cleaning of amenities are long, 8:00 to 9:30 and 3:30 to 4:30, although I think this is a guide and they are actually only cleaned for 30mins during this time. There is an outdoor shower and 1 outdoor wet area toilet (1 each for men and women), so that’s really handy. Large camp kitchen. Only 1 cooking ring. 3 Electric BBQS, 2 picnic benches, 1 sink. Instant hot water for tea and coffees. Not any real security. No boom gate to enter through, amenities open all the time (which is fantastic, don’t get me wrong) but it’s right near a large park area and just opposite the beach. We were told when we arrived to be vigilant with our esky content over the Xmas period, so we went out and bought a lock. One Saturday night just after 3am I heard some bottles clinking (I’m a very light sleeper), looking out the window I saw 2 guys walking around with torches & carrying arms full of alcohol they had stolen from peoples esky’s! Not the sites fault & we were warned, just didn’t make me feel very safe, but quickly forgot about it and just made sure we didn’t leave anything valuable outside. Location wise it’s perfect for the beach and inlet. About 100m from the beach and 500m to the bridge at the inlet (perfect spot for prawning at night) Town is about a 10min walk. Woolworths & BWS is at the end of town, lots of parking and a good size. Overall it’s not as cramped as people make out (if you’re on the lower part of the park) Lots of families that are regulars. Reception were lovely. Not sure if they are new to the park, seemed a little unorganised at times, but this didn’t affect us, just an observation. Over Xmas the weather was hit & miss. It went from no wind to lots of wind within the day, it was a pretty cold wind too. (Not Park related, just area related) Would go back if we were in the area.
