I came down from QLD and booked here for a month and ended up being here for the whole 2nd Covid lockdown. As an “essential traveller” (ie: full timer) I was allowed to stay despite the park having been officially closed. The managers David & Simon and all the staff are so kind and helpful. The location is gorgeous! Warburton is nestled in the Yarra Valley, just over an hour away from Melbourne and the Warburton Holiday Park runs parallel to the Yarra River and has plenty of riverside, shady sites for tents or caravans. There is a lovely riverside walk through the forest at the end of the caravan park, Warburton shops are a short walk away and the O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail, Warburton to Lilydale cycle/walking track, Mount Donna Buang and the Redwoods Forest are all close by. Bring your floatation craft so you can enjoy floating down the river from one side of the park to the other. A new free waterpark for the kids has just opened up in the park too that is proving very popular. Several key-coded amenities blocks are spread over the grounds and are always kept clean and well stocked and there is also a coin operated laundry and clothes lines. Dogs are also allowed. I kept telling everyone that I couldn’t have ended up locked down in a better spot! Even during winter, I enjoyed regular bush walks and the spectacular scenery. I can’t rate this park highly enough!
