Super quiet, relaxing spot to stop for a few days to enjoy the scenery. DO NOT TAKE STURGESS TRAIL. This is a private road which maps doesn’t tell you if you use the link from Anycamp and has a locked gate. Access is via Batlow and Forest Road which is an extra half an hour down the road. Best route through state forest down to camp is via Yellowan Road if you aren’t into bush bashing. Lots of kangaroos who stay clear from the camps but add to the gorgeous scenery. We went in mid February and there were locusts everywhere! Not a big issue as long as you stay out the long grass, they usually just jump out of the way. Water colour is due to clay waterbed but didn’t affect the water after about 10m out. Overall the stay was amazing we saw about 3 other campers over the whole weekend who camped so far away we couldn’t see their campsites. Will definitely be returning soon!
