This turned out to be the best free camp. We were able to get on solid ground by the water. On the south side of the Port Hedland - Marble Bar road, as you cross the river is lay-by with green flood warning. Directly opposite is a large gate. Enter here, the dirt road is slow going and not recommended after rain. Make sure you leave no rubbish or waste. Close gates after yourself. We put a line in and caught golden perch all too small to eat but great catch and release. The sunsets were wonderful, bird life amazing and the water was good to gave a dip in, going greener by the day now. Please act responsibly as the water is deep. You need to be self sufficient, but we spent 3 wonderful days here.
