Campsites

We were here overnight on 23/1/22. Only 1 other group camping. My initial impression was a bit disappointed, the weather wasn’t great, and heaps of mozzies and flies. Bring repellent in the summer. Quite a few puddles around from recent rain so mozzies making the most of breeding. There is an old hut for emergency shelter, felt creepy and dodgy in there. Our kind neighbours alerted us to the presence of funnel web spiders in our site (we’re not from NSW, we were a bit ignorant). So there are about 5-6 sites with fire rings. There is a drop dunny, no water, BYO, but our neighbours forgot water and used rain water from the tank attached to the hut, just bring to a rolling boil for 3 minutes before drinking. There is a walk to a lookout, 2 hours return, but we didn’t do it as we wanted to hit the road. The one upside to this campsite is it was very quiet, only twice vehicles drove past. It drizzled steadily overnight and was a bit foggy in the morning, but not cold.
