Great location - have been here many times with mates. Can get very busy during school holidays or long weekends. No mobile phone coverage. Bring your own wood for the your fire.

I have never owned a 4x4, I love the Howqua River, my first visit was 1972. And then still go back. I prefer during the week and not school holidays. Such a beautiful part of our country. I steer clear from the high country in bushfire season because when fires occur on the Howqua you have very little chance to exit the area. A week or two after the school holidays is usually good apart and rubbish here and there. People like me generally take home a bag or three. Too many people don’t respect our beautiful country and it’s getting worse. by Martin T.
