Love this place. Have been about 4 times here and will definitely go again. Nice individual secluded campsites and communal fire pits. Sites are non-powered and need to bring your own water. Drop toil... Read more

Excellent choice if you’re looking for a secluded place to camp near the beach. You can either go fishing or boating in the river and/or enjoy water activities in the sea. You can visit the Point Hicks lighthouse following a 4km trail which isn’t really hard, and they have a lighthouse tour scheduled at 1pm during weekends which is free of charge. If you’re lucky enough, you might be able to witness whales, dolphins and etc. There’s also a massive sand dunes about 2 kms from the campsite. It’s a nice place for a picnic if you’re into that sort of a thing. Don’t forget to check out the West Beach. It’s not that far from the lighthouse. Not many people really go there, but I believe that was the highlight of my camping experience at the Thurra River campsite.
