THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! I don’t get lost for words very often but this place is beyond magic. I’ll keep this short and let the pics do the talking but the trip to Cape Palmerston is well worth it if you love beach 4WD’ing and beach camping. It takes quite some planning to get there - supplies, 4WD & accessories, food, water etc etc. Once you’re there it is a long way from the township of Sarina. We had 7 glorious nights there with a full moon at the end of the stay. The beach fishing was great. We managed to swim croc & stinger free. The camp grounds are very secluded but I would imagine a lot busier at holiday times. The 4WD’ing is next level with loads of spots to discover. If you need supplies you can stop in at the independent fuel station at the turn off to Cape Palmerston National Park or there is everything you need in Sarina - a 20 minute drive from that turn off.
