#4 Fern Flat Campground
2 RatingsToilets, BBQ Areas, National Parks, Walking Trails and allows fires are all available at the campground. The ranger was friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. Plots 6,7 & 8 are for tents only and there is no vehicle access. A permit is needed and can be bought from the hut. A 5km drive up a mountain is required to reach the campground and there are Fireflies and Platypus to be seen if you take a short walk. It is important to note that there is no drinking water, no swimming and no showers at the site.

#3 Diggings
3 RatingsThis remote campground in Crediton State Forest offers a perfect spot for secluded camping. Drop toilets are clean and stone fire pits mark out each camp site. Swimming holes in the creek are crystal clear and the cool mountain air is refreshing. A 25 minute drive to Eungella provides supplies or meals. Fuel up back down the range at Finch Hatton. Day trips to Finch Hatton Gorge are remarkable. Take the ‘Diggings Road’ turn off 5 minutes out of Eungella, not the Google Map way. A memorable camping experience!

#1 Eungella Dam
7 RatingsThis campsite is a great spot for swimming and fishing, with a boat ramp for boats nearby. Fires are allowed and pets are welcome. The area is spread out, with plenty of room and lovely views of the dam. Toilets and a dump area are well maintained, and there is a security guard who goes around to ensure everything is okay. There is no drinking water, but it's only $8 per couple, $5 per child and $15 per family, making it excellent value for money. Wildlife is around, so make sure to keep food and rubbish away at night. No phone signals, but it's a beautiful spot and highly recommended.
