Reids is a great spot located in Upper Yarra, within two hours of Melbourne. It is free to visit and allows pets, making it a great destination for families. There is plenty of space to set up caravans and camper trailers, as well as 4WD trails through the state forest. There are also non-drinking water sources available. The facilities are basic, but there is a drop toilet as well as three deep concrete fire pits. Despite the rainy weather, it wasn’t too busy when we visited.

Beautiful spot surrounded by tall trees and easy access to the river. Many sites to choose from, all with plenty of shade. 4WD trails on offer and fires allowed. Great place to relax and enjoy the serenity. Ps Aircamp is located close by, on Big River Rd. Highly recommended!

Beautiful spot for a weekend getaway. Grassy fields with ‘camp where you want’ policy, flush toilets and secure gate. Caravans, camper trailers and national parks all welcome. Fishing, walking trails and 4WD tracks also available. Allows fires and only two hours from Melbourne. Book early as spots are limited. Lovely, quiet atmosphere with great river access.
