Hidden gem tucked away in the state Forrest, only 8 allotted camping spots. Fire pits at each site, concrete fire pits in picnic area. Lovely gums and the La Trobe river nearby. BYO water, firewood and toilet paper. Peaceful and private, get in early to secure spot. Sounds of distant river a delight, only occasional noise from larger groups at night. Great spot for family getaway.

#1 Noojee Toorongo Falls Campground

Filled star Filled star Filled star Filled star Empty star 36 Ratings

Beautiful spot with plenty of space to camp and a stunning waterfall nearby. Fire pits, toilets, and park benches are provided, and the river is close by. Arriving on a Thursday, there were lots of camping spots available, but it filled up quickly by the weekend. Great for hiking, fishing, and walking trails, and allows fires. A great two-hour getaway from Melbourne, with a helpful cafe across the road for all your needs. Bring repellent to keep food secure, and beware of wasps!
